Any users in the political forum have IBS that does not respond to medical treatments. If so what do you do?

I do have health insurance and i have been seeing gastroenterologists for over 2 years. The sad part is that they failed to find cure for my IBS. The medical treatments don't work at all. I was put on antidepressants, intestinal relaxation medications, proton pump inhibitor meds, and a whole lot of more meds. The only thing i felt were the bad side effects coming from these medications -- weight gain, difficulty urinating, excessive thirst, dry mouth, fatigue, confusion, slurred speech, etc etc. I know Obama talks of necessity of health care. But he always assumes that health coverage will resolve all the ailments that people suffer. He does not take into consideration my cases where even after having health insurance and lot of visits to gastroenterologists, it is still a failure. What do politicians say about that?
