Trying to find photographers or writers whose work was about mental/physical abnormalities in photography?

I'm writing an essay on changelings and photography. My essay is about the representation of Downs Syndrome, Progeria, Autism etc and how the advent of photography helped dispell the belief that sufferers of ailments like these were changelings.
